The main research activity carried out in the laboratory is based on the Knudsen Effusion Mass Spectrometry (KEMS) technique, aimed at a) investigating the evaporation/decomposition processes of solid and liquid materials under close-to-equilibrium conditions and determining the pertinent thermodynamic properties; b) identifying new molecules in inorganic vapors produced at high temperature (up to 2000 °C) and determining their dissociation/atomization energies by the thermochemical analysis of gaseous equilibria which they are involved in.
