Development of hydrometallurgical processes for high tech waste recycling

Line of research

Technological wastes contain critical raw materials and precious metals which, after proper treatment, can be recycled in new processes as secondary raw materials. The research group developed hydrometallurgical processes for recycling end of life batteries and photovoltaic panels with specific attention to valorization of all side-products (zero waste process) and production of innovative nanomaterial by hydrothermal and electrochemical methods.
