Symposium for YouNg Chemists 2022
The First Symposium for YouNg Chemists: Innovation and Sustainability (SYNC2022) is an International conference which takes over the legacy of the Young Researchers Conference (Convegno Giovani Ricercatori, CGR), an event which has been organized every two years since 2002 by the Department of Chemistry of the University of Rome La Sapienza to offer the young researchers of the Department the opportunity to present their scientific work publicly, with the aim of promoting an ever greater collaboration between research groups and to provide young people with ideas and tools for the construction of new research projects.
Starting from these premises and aiming at developing transnational collaborations among early stage researchers from different universities across Europe and, possibly, worldwide, we have decided to rethink the format of our original Young Researchers Conference opening it up to International participants, to become
The First Symposium for YouNg Chemists: Innovation and Sustainability (SYNC2022)
The conference, which will take place in Rome on June 20-23, 2022, will be in presence and be dedicated to innovation and eco-sustainability.
SYNC aims at fostering the realization of the objectives allowing long-term sharing of research and innovation projects: stimulate the mobility of PhD students, prepare the new generations for future changes through joint educational programs at PhD level and offer exchange opportunities for the development of research and innovative projects in response to local, regional and global challenges.
The topics of the conference will focus on how Chemistry may provide an answer to the main societal challenges, both at a local and a global level:
- Climate, Environment, Energy
- Environment and cultural heritage
- Materials for Health, Environment and Energy
- Polymers and Biopolymers
- Circular Economy
- Chemical Solutions to face Societal Challenges
- Green Chemistry
- Smart sensors
- Fundamental Chemistry
- Stefano Passerini (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany)
- Reyko Oda (European Institute for Chemistry and Biology, France)
- Lars Angenent (University of Tübingen,Germany)
- Giuseppe Portale (University of Groningen, NL)
- Anna De Juan (University of Barcelona, Spain)
- Jose Nuno Canongia Lopes (University of Lisbon, Portugal)
