Antonio Rubino

Postdoctoral fellow
Biography
Research fellow at the Department of Chemistry - Sapienza University of Rome from 01/11/2019 (SSD ING-IND / 26). He gained at the same University the Master Degree in Industrial Chemistry (curriculum: Environment Resources Energy and Safety) in May 2016, defending the thesis "Cobalt electrodeposition on nanoporous anodized alumina template", Supervisor Prof. Francesca Pagnanelli. In November 2016 he was awarded by the Ministerial scholarship for the XXXII PhD cycle in Chemical Engineering. He obtained the PhD in February 2020 defending the thesis "Production of nanostructured catalysts by electrochemical methods: synthesis, characterization and possible applications". In November 2018 and March 2019 he worked at the "Center for Environmental and Sustainability Research" of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the NOVA University of Lisbon as Early Stage Researcher within the activities of the European project e.THROUGH (H2020-MSCA -RISE-2017-778045), with research activities concerning the synthesis and use of electrodes based on nanostructured titanium dioxide in electrokinetic processes aimed at the removal/recovery of "hazardous and critical raw materials" from mine residues. To date, the research activity carried out is aimed at the production of electrode nanomaterials using electrochemical methods for photoelectrocatalytic and electrocatalytic purposes and at the optimization of hydrometallurgical processes for the recovery/enhancement of metal fractions from the treatment of technological wastes.
