Sustainable chemistry routes for the recycling of critical metals involved in the energy transition

Line of research
The energy storage and production technologies upon which the energy transition is based rely on metals that, due to their limited availability, are termed critical. This research line involves the study of innovative methods (such as deep eutectic solvents, electrochemical methods) for recycling metals contained in end-of-life Li-ion batteries, investigating extraction mechanisms, and synthesizing and characterizing new inorganic materials for energy storage from the extracted metals.
