Francesco Amato

Biography
Francesco Amato was born in Palermo on 13/05/1989, he obtained his Master's degree in Chemistry cum laude in 2014 from the University of Palermo. In the same city, he gained two Postgraduate scholarships (2015-2017) in the research groups of Prof. Maria Liria Turco Liveri and Prof. Simonpietro Agnello working on innovative nanohybrid systems clay/surfactants for the removal of organic pollutants and metal-based nanoparticles for SERS applications, respectively. In 2021, he earned the PhD in nanotechnology at the University of Trieste under the supervision of Prof. Maurizio Prato with research focusing on the synthesis, characterization and applications of Carbon Nanodots. From September 2021, he is a Post-doc researcher at the Sapienza (research project funded by the 5x1000 foundation) working in the research group coordinated by Prof. Robertino Zanoni on the synthesis, characterization and applications of carbon-based nanosponges.
