Carbon Dots (CDs) are an emerging class of carbon nanoparticles with sizes up to 10 nm and functional groups on the actve surface which can be easily modified. CDs have been largely investigated for their photoluminescence properties. This research line is focused on:
- Synthesis of chiral CDs for nano-organocatalytic applications in heterogeneous catalysis;
- Synthesis of CDs, also bio-based, for biomedical applications
