Elemental analysis of Cultural Heritage samples

Line of research
Samples of cultural heritage, including archaeological and bio-archaeological finds, are complex matrices made up of many chemical species of natural origin or due to transformation by man or the environment. Chemical investigation can help to ascertain the processing techniques and the destinations and uses of archaeological objects. The knowledge of the materials used in the works of art allows to implement preventive measures for their conservation. The elementary analysis can allow to establish the geographical origin and the authenticity of the find.
