Novel bio and nanofabrication techniques for the synthesis of innovative materials for biotechnological applications Line of research The aim of this research is the design and production of biopolymeric, nano and microstructured materials, able to entrap bioactive molecules and genes in mammalian cell lines, plant cells and microbial cells or as carriers of industrial enzymes. The preparation of these materials is based on nanoprecipitation phenomena, achieved through innovative techniques such as patented methodologies within the research group (PCT Sapienza RM2004A000555) and flowfocusing microfluidic reactors.
