Laboratory of organic synthesis and stereoselective organocatalysis

The research activity carried out in the laboratory fits in the field of sustainable chemistry. In particular, the main research topics are: i) design and optimization of domino multi-step processes in asymmetric organic synthesis aiming at the preparation of complex molecular architectures with multiple stereocenters, with the objective to reduce time, costs and environmental impact of the methods; ii) in collaboration with Prof. Marta Feroci we study the synthesis of organic compounds of industrial and pharmaceutical interest under electrochemical conditions; iii) the synthesis of carbon dots, chiral and achiral, for catalytic and biomedical applications.
