Surface Science Laboratory


The surface characteristics (chemical composition, electronic structure) of electroactive materials that find application in advanced devices such as semiconductors and metals for batteries, solar cells, sensors, supercapacitors, graphene-based materials are studied. Electrochemical, spectroscopic (XPS, UPS) and microscopic (AFM) methods are used. Surfaces functionalized with organic and organometallic molecules are also prepared for applications in molecular electronics under controlled atmosphere conditions, based on the use of dry-box and Schlenck lines.
