LECTURES OF ETHICS OF CHEMISTRY
The EuChemS's working party on Ethics of Chemistry, with the goal to promote the understanding of the importance of ethical considerations in education and practice of pure and applied chemistry, has drawn up a Syllabus.
In collaboration with the Chemistry Department and the Italian Chemical Society (SCI) proposes a international program to contribute to the awareness of chemists on the ethics of the profession of chemist and researcher in chemistry, on the social and cultural implications of the profession of the chemist and the results of chemical research. The course in English follows the cycle in Italian on request of study courses in Chemistry held in other world Countries.
The course is open to chemists in general, and is aimed at providing the necessary tools to responsibly face the future of chemistry.
It is divided into five lectures, held by prof. Luigi Campanella, one of the first researchers in Italy to deal with these issues and president of the SCI working group on the Ethics of Chemistry, on topics related to the contents of the syllabus:
- Ethics of Chemistry
- The two faces of chemistry
- The REACH regulation
- Animal experimentation
The seminars will be held on April, 1, 8, 13, 22 and 27 at 1.00 p.m. and can be followed in classroom C (building Cannizzaro CU014 - Sapienza Chemistry Department) or on Google Meet: https://meet.google.com/nsb-tbuc-tku
