This research is aimed at studying the evaporation processes of ionic liquids in order to evaluate their thermal stability – a property important for technological applications – and to determine their volatility and thermodynamic properties by means of mass spectrometry coupled with a Knudsen source. The focus has been mainly on some among the most widespread aprotic ionic liquids with diimidazolium cation and such anions as NTf2, PF6, halide.
