The research results of an international study about Li-air secdonary batteries have been published on Nature Chemistry (2021).

Prof. Sergio Brutti was part of the research team led by Dr. Stefan A.Freunberger from IST (Austria).

The paper reports about fundamental aspects of the action of redox mediators on the reduction/oxidation of molecular oxygen to lithium peroxide in aprotic electrolytes.

This study is another step towards the commercial diffusion of next generation batteries for electric vechicles and planes.
