Autosampler
The NMR spectrometer is equipped with a 30-position refrigerated autosampler, spanning a temperature range from -20°C to room temperature. This accessory is of fundamental importance for the metabolomic analysis in which the samples, of biological origin, are easily subject to degradation if left at room temperature.
With the refrigerated autosampler, on the other hand, it is possible to queue a large number of samples, which are analyzed automatically without interruption and are exposed to the target temperature to which the spectrum must be acquired only for the needed time. In this way it is possible to obtain in a relatively short time the quantity of spectra necessary for a high-throughput analysis such as metabolomics. At the end of the experiment the sample is housed in the autosampler again, allowing its possible recovery.
