Welcome to ECIS 2016
You are invited to attend ECIS 2016, the 30th Conference of the European Colloid and Interface Society (ECIS).
The conference will be held from 4th to 9th September 2016, in the campus of the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, a nice, green and quiet area in the center of Rome dedicated to the exchange of knowledge.
The aim of the conference is to bring chemists, physicists, biologists and engineers to a single platform to converge their expertise and ideas in the interdisciplinary field of colloidal and interface science.
The topics will cover fundamental and applied advances in the fields of Interfaces, Dispersed systems, Complex fluids, Micro- and nano-engineered materials and devices formed by naturally occurring or synthesized elements: surfactants, polymers, proteins, particles.
During the Conference, plenary lectures will be given by the laureates of the Overbeek 2016 and Solvay 2016 Prizes.
For the third time, the best oral presentation given by a young scientist will be awarded by the Enzo Ferroni Prize and several best poster Prizes will be awarded to young researchers and PhD students.
We are also happy to announce a pre-conference ECIS Training Course “Colloids and interfaces in cultural heritage: physico-chemical methodologies and new investigative approaches” to be held from 1st to 3rd September 2016.
Elsevier gives the opportunity to publish the articles from the conference in a special issue of Colloids and Surfaces A: Physicochemical and Engineering Aspects after the usual refereeing procedure.
The Young Investigator Training Program (YITP) financed by ACRI (Italian Banking Foundation Association) will give to 10 young researchers from Europe the opportunity to experience a different scientific environment in an Italian Research Center, in connection with attending the ECIS 2016 Conference.
We look forward to seeing you and welcoming you at the 30th ECIS Conference in September 2016.
