Composite Colloids for Biomedical Applications Line of research Intrinsic and association colloids jointly form peculiar entities when aqueous dispersions of silica or carbon nanotubes mixed are reacted with polymers, surfactants and/or their mixtures. The materials obtained accordingly may be used as scaffolds, adsorbing matrices, for transfection technologies, possibly in biomedicine. The above materials are properly screened before applications are at hand. In addition, fundamental studies on the role of electrostatic forces acting among the above NPs is under study. Presumably, such forces control the reciprocal interactions among these entities.
